The Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has made know to trainee teachers the reason for the delay in the disbursement of their allowances.
According to the president of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG), Mr. Augustine Appiah, who engaged them to find answers relating to the delay, they statistically made known to him that, the total number of students that were paid in first semester were 41, 926. They added that, they are waiting for PRINCOF to give out the exact number of students that have been enrolled for the 2019/2020 academic year so that the variance of figures can be noted
In furtherance, it was made known to him that one of the main issue that has caused the delay of disbursement of the allowance is the students who were not paid due to wrong data submission of details needed for the payment of the allowances.
SLTF noted that, due to the plea from trainees pertaining to payments of allowance to reduce financial burden in the wake of their virtual semester, they want to avoid the situation of some students not receiving payment.
We would therefore urge all trainees who couldn’t receive their allowances in the first semester to submit their accurate details to their colleges through the SRCs to avoid this situation once again. The leadership of the Local TTAG (SRCs) is expected to also liaise with their Principals to expedite this processes.
