The Police in the Ashanti Region has arrested a group of 30 women trying to sneak through Kumasi to Walewale.
The women were hidden in a cargo truck on their way to the their hometown in Northern Ghana.
According to Peace Fm news, these women where in a VIP bus stopped by the Police with orders given to the driver to disembark on the travel.
Trying to outsmart the police, they organized a cargo truck and covered themselves with cargo goods since cargo trucks are exempted from the travel restrictions placed on Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Kasoa.
On Saturday and Sunday people fled Accra, Kumasi and other lockdown area to their hometowns in a bid to avoid leaving in restrictions for 14 days.
Unfortunately for these women, they missed the deadline which was 1am Monday.
The lockdown of Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Kasoa is part of measures by the government of Ghana to control the spread of coronavirus in the country.
