The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana, Eastern -Greater Accra sector has launched an initiative which is aimed at helping financially constrained students in the sector.
This initiative dubbed “EGA Aid” was officially launched on Monday, 5th of October,2020 at the SDA college of Education Koforidua-Asokore.
The event was chaired by Prof. William Kofi Koomson, Principal of the SDA college of Education.
The sector President, Ms. Adjei-Yeboah Francisca in her address said this initiative by the sector is aimed at supporting students who genuinely have financial difficulties in the various colleges in the sector. Her desire is to make this initiative a permanent one and stated that it has come Stay.
The sector commenced the EGA Aid this year and it is worthy to note that 20 students from the colleges in the sector have benefited from this aid as they were supported in getting registered for the just ended licensure exams. According to the sector President it is her heart desire that the number of students supported this year increases in subsequent years. Some beneficiaries from this Aid present at the launch Expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the sector for the Support.
The Chairman of the Program, Professor Koomson supported the EGA Aid with a seed amount and advised that this great initiative can be sold to the organisations and asked that the sector depends not only on the dues but can solicit funds from various institution and organizations even the government to support this brilliant initiative.
