Award winning blogger and founder of EducationGhana.net, Ellis Ferdinand has schooled beneficiaries of allowance specifically teacher trainees not to only be interested in the payment of allowance.
According to Ellis Ferdinand, trainees are more than happy to hear of continuous payment of their allowance where as to the politician, it is a tool to garner votes, deny the trainee employment after exchanging their conscience for allowance.
He advised politicians to rather promise direct employment after school and not only campaign on the payment of allowances.
“It’s time Politicians promise direct employment after School and not only campaign on the payment of allowances”
This comes after the former President, John Dramani Mahama made a promise to maintain the allowance if he’s voted for in the 2020 polls.
Information gathered so far by CediNews suggest that, close to 2000 qualified trained teachers (2016, 2017 and 2018) from the colleges of education have been denied postings after their completion.
