P.C.E’S AKYEKYERE NE NWAW HALL NOMINATED FOR EASTERN TERTIARY EXELLENCE AWARDS

BRIEF HISTORY

The Executive hall, a hall of great fame and dignity, also called the Akyekyere Ne Nwaw Hall, literally means the tortoise and the snail. The Hall is said to have been founded by Dr. Ephraim Amu, a musicologist, in the 1920s, when he was a tutor in Ghana’s first premiere college, Presbyterian College of Education (P.C.E), Akropong-Akuapem. The hall is the most enviable on P.C.E campus and it is identified by the golden yellow color which signifies calmness, peace and rich glory, the reason behind the name, “the executive Hall”.

MOTTO AND SLOGAN

The executive hall has its motto “slow but sure”. We believe that we are sure to conquer all our foes in terms of both curricular and co-curricular activities. The hall stands above the rest with a positive slogan “Akyenosa” meaning Akyekyere Ne Nwaw old students Association with response FORWARD!!!

EDUCATION

The hall is noted for academics as a result of their massive performance exhibited in University of Cape Coast, UCC examinations annually. It is not surprising that during the SRC week celebration which took place last year, the hall was crowned the best hall. The Hall is also the first and only hall on PCE Campus having WI-FI connection and this was made possible by the current Hall president (2017-2020), Agyei Amofa Andy which is mainly used for academic research and other educational activities.

SPORTS AND ATHLETICS

The hall has over the years provided the school with great sports personalities both from previous years and now. Some sport personalities who have made the hall proud are; Adionu Prince, Hagan Ebenezer, Deballa, Aseye Elvis, Awuah Gilbert, Ansong Richmond among others. Ayisi Samuel, Eric kwagyire and others have also made great contributions to the college’s Athletics team.

Due to the hall’s massive performance both in sporting and academic activities, the Hall has been nominated in the Eastern Tertiary Excellence Awards.

Some members of the Great Hall have also been nominated for the ETEA Awards and they are;

Abdul-Rahman Musah- Nominated for Student blogger of the year

Agyemang Hanson- Nominated for student Most Fashionable

Dadzie Eudia- Nominated for Student Dancer of the year

The hall is calling on all old students, continuing students and well wishers of the hall to support and be crowned, best tertiary hall in Eastern region.
