The Ghana Police Service have over the years been seen as an institution of bribery as a result of few people in the service, who’s actions and inactions paints the institution black. Last year, earlier December, a news popped up pertaining to a police man who was spotted taking GHC100 bribe which was widely tauted on social media.
To give Ghanaians a reason to respect the service and to restore it’s dignity, there’s this Police man whose actions in a form of charity and the care to person’s living with disability has spark a positive intuition of the service. This is as a result of a Facebook video which went viral of the said police man seen holding a handful of crutches and giving them out to person’s living with disability.
Speaking to the police man, Lance Corporal Simon Ekpeagba Agboko who is stationed at the Accra regional C.I.D, he told Cedi News that, he’s very passionate in giving. I find it emotional when I wake up going to work to see person’s taking the streets as their abode and begging for alms. This has been my reason to help to put a smile on their faces. Under my care are persons living in the orphanage homes, person’s living with disability, people living with insanity who have given birth among others. What you saw was just a section of my charity and I still have a lot to do for my people, he said.
